Tensioning Set

For tying hay nets upwards – it keeps the hay net taut.

If you're feeding large bales, a hay net is absolutely essential!

Consisting of

  • 2 multi-strap tensioners, each with 6 bungee cords (weatherproof, abrasion-resistant, UV-resistant)
  • attached to iron rings
  • 2 carabiners
  • 2 iron rings
  • 2 screw-on eyelets

The tensioning set has really proven itself in long-term tests and keeps the hay net taut enough so horses can't pull it out of the hay rack, which could potentially block the hay cover. However, it also provides enough flexibility for the horses to grab the hay with their lips.

This kind of upward securing is totally safe for the horses!

Tying down hay nets ...

... involves certain risks when combined with automatic feeding systems. If gaps remain and a horse can still get its head underneath the hay net, an unexpected automatic closing of the hay rack may cause panic reactions and injuries.

As such a case occurred with one of our customers, we would like to point out this potential risk with downwardly tensioned hay nets.
