You can handle the manual operation and feeding time setup for both the Raufomat Smart and the Raufomat Solar using smartphone control with any other Wi-Fi-enabled device. You can do this from the ground within about a 25-meter range near your hay rack.
This is more convenient and saves you time than operating it directly at the control box, which needs to be mounted as high as possible on the hay rack to keep it safe from horses. This means you won't have the annoying hassle of using a step stool anymore. The password-protected smartphone control works through its own Wi-Fi network (no app, no internet).
Unfortunately, because of the significant extra work involved, we can only retrofit it later if you send back the control box, and there'll be an extra charge.
With time-controlled horse feeding, you'll find that feeding times need to be adjusted, and not just when you're starting out. Depending on hay quality and how big your horses' bellies are,you'll constantly need to tweak the daily feeding duration.
For bigger changes, we always recommend taking it step-by-step, in 5-minute increments. This helps keep your horses from getting unsettled and prevents any frustration.
Whether you have a smartphone control or not, you can make all changes to the system right on the control box itself.
